For part 2 of our Black August focus, we’re going to look at a fundamental pillar of Black August: the recognition of US Political Prisoners.
It is important to recognize that the US has always used political prisoners to punish dissent and stifle any revolutionary movements. But even in prison, our revolutionaries are still engaging in active freedom work.
This episode features a conversation with my partner Gabriel Teodros, as well as part of an earlier conversation with richie reseda, who began his amazing community work while incarcerated in the California prison system, and continues to shed light on the fight for abolition in his work today.
